Our Place

My family make and learn from making little things daily. This is a place where you can watch us design and build our own architecture :)

Designing and building our own place

My husband and I began our relationship by renovating a 1972 Kombi and making gifts for each other.

That was ten years ago, and it didn’t stop there.

In 2016, we purchased a piece of land in Leura in the Blue Mountains in New South Wales.

We were living in Fremantle, Western Australia, at the time so a lot has happened since then - including packing up a house, little people and dogs to make the road trip across Australia.

We have also spent that time finding our unique architectural language in order to design our own rammed earth home.

This year we hope to commence building!

We plan to have the main sticks of the place completed by professionals and then try to put together as much as possible of the remaining parts ourselves. Or, at least we’ll give it a go :D Exciting times!

We will be building the Blue Mountains in New South Wales, Australia. It is located bang in the middle of world heritage national park, which is INCREDIBLY beautiful, but also prone to bushfire. We will be building in the highest risk bushfire level.

I will try to catch you up on the process to date and you can watch our journey here.

Little Templates

These are the templates we used along the journey to build our own house.

Other architecture

We have also put together some smaller projects in the past, while learning what is unique to our combined architectural language along the way.

You can see some of them here.

Whether you use the little things I have made for you, or whether you would like to work with me one on one, let’s start the journey in working together to find your architectural language and make your little ideas a reality.
